Dish Rags!
That is what I'm currently making right now. I took the Sugar N' Cream yarn that was suppose to be for the fingerless gloves and have been making dish clothes. Why you may ask? First and foremost, the yarn is not very forgiving and not a good choice for my first pair of fingerless gloves - however they make GREAT dish rags. Secondly, I stopped working in the fingerless gloves because this move is chaotic the last thing I need is a project that is challenging. So instead I am making dish rags (not for me of course), but for my mother who also has an upcoming move. Shhh. . . btw, it's a secret! :D
Below are some pictures of my latest and greatest project . . .

Frogging
In the process of all the chaos in my life I lost track of where I am in my fingerless glove pattern and I discovered a dropped stitch a few rows from where I am now. . . so I'm going to frog the whole thing and start from scratch. Ugh! Funny enough I described knitting as "relaxing" today and right now it doesn't feel that way. With my upcoming move and the Ravelympics coming up I think I may take a pause from the FLG's and come back to them in September. . . then again, I was hoping to be starting my first pair of sock by then. I don't know... we'll see. I really don't want to be working on two project at one time during the Olympics. It's not my style to be unfaithful.
Well, my break from packing is finished. It's time to get back to my boxes.
Ta! Ta! for now...

The Beginning of Fingerless Gloves
Tuesday night I cast on Sugar N' Cream - Oriental Ochre onto size 7 Double Pointed Needles (DPNs). In the beginning I struggled to get the ribbing done (six rounds of knit 1, purl 1). I could only go that far for three reasons - 1) I was so frustrated with learning how to handle DPN's that I wanted nothing to do with them; 2) When I printed out the pattern it only printed the glossary of abbreviations and not the actual patterns so I improvised by using my computer until the batter ran out; and 3) I kept either picking up or losing stitches so I would momentarily give up. I felt it looked so bad and got so frustrated that I must have frogged the project at least three times before I got going on it. Currently I am just knitting and attacking increases. This is just as fun as ribbing was to do.
Below are pictures of the project's progress:

Yay! The ribbing is finished and it's time to knit a few rounds!

This project is starting to grow.
Now venturing into the wacky world of increases (note the stitch markers)...
