The Beginning of Fingerless Gloves

Tuesday night I cast on Sugar N' Cream - Oriental Ochre onto size 7 Double Pointed Needles (DPNs). In the beginning I struggled to get the ribbing done (six rounds of knit 1, purl 1). I could only go that far for three reasons - 1) I was so frustrated with learning how to handle DPN's that I wanted nothing to do with them; 2) When I printed out the pattern it only printed the glossary of abbreviations and not the actual patterns so I improvised by using my computer until the batter ran out; and 3) I kept either picking up or losing stitches so I would momentarily give up. I felt it looked so bad and got so frustrated that I must have frogged the project at least three times before I got going on it. Currently I am just knitting and attacking increases. This is just as fun as ribbing was to do.

Below are pictures of the project's progress:

This is right after the project had been cast on and before the frogging began.

This project is starting to grow.

Now venturing into the wacky world of increases (note the stitch markers)...

That is all for now . . . Ta! Ta!
